Grow New Hair

Have you ever wondered, why can’t we cure male pattern baldness?  Why can’t we grow a culture of new skin with its shiny new hair follicles from some place that still has good hair growing, like our beard?  And then just swap the top of our head with that?

Heck, why haven’t we by now figured out what causes it and how to stop or even reverse it?  Plenty of products claim to, but if they really worked we wouldn’t have so many bald people, would we?

It just kind of makes you wonder.  Why is it with all of our neat technology and science can’t we even do something like cure baldness?  Or cure the common cold?  It’s no wonder we can’t cure cancer if this is the best we can do!

Netgear Recalls XE103 Powerline Ethernet Adapter

Yes, that’s right folks. Netgear is recalling their XE103 Powerline Ethernet Adapter. Well, the 220-240 volt version anyway. The American standard of 100-120 volts is still safe to use.

Apparently the internal electronics can theoretically overheat, potentially to the point of being a fire hazard. Which just adds this device to the myriad of dangerous electronics kicking around in the world. Though unlike so many cell phone and laptop batteries, so far no fires have actually started. Netgear recognized the potential problem before it actually happened and is voluntarily recalling the products before they set your world on fire. Not after your laptop burns your family jewels or your cell phone gives your brain a lot more to worry about than just cancer.

Frankly, even though it theoretically kind of sucks, it’s really a nice change of pace. Instead of arguing with the manufacturer that it burst in to flames like so many other consumer electronic owners have had to do, this time the manufacturer is claiming culpability and recalling them all (hopefully) before any injuries. Which is why I’m helping spread the word. Let’s get them all safely returned before anyone gets hurt please. And a grand Huzzah! to Netgear for being responsible.
