Vacation

You may have noticed that blog entries aren’t going up quite as regularly as usual lately.

That’s because I’m on vacation.

Well … sort of.

If by vacation you mean working on refinishing the kitchen whilst simultaneously rebuilding my wife.

Oh, and dealing with those pesky wisdom teeth, one of which has rotted out from a cavity and crumbled apart.

Yeah.

Vacation.

Anyway, I’m not dead.  I just wish I were.  ;)

Cha Cha Changes

So my faithful readers have probably noticed by now that there’s been a ever so slight change in the appearance of InsanIT.net. I thought it was time to make the place look a little more professional to match my mood. The old layout was nice and all, but I think you’ll find the new InsanIT.net to be even more functional than before. (Plus the fluid layout means no more wasted space.)

The mascots have been retired to … well … wherever mascots go when they get retired. But don’t fear! I’m sure they’ve gone to a much better place.

For those who don’t know, the blue is Commodore 64 dark blue and the green is old Apple monitor light green.   Heh heh.  Silly, I know, but I’m an old geek.  Put up with me.

Other than that, it’s still pretty much the same old InsanIT.net. Mostly because I’m more-or-less the same old Arah. I think. Last time I checked anyway…

So enjoy. Have fun. The posts will still all be the same mixture of crazy instances and uses of technology in today’s world combined with serious issues for those times when, you know, life is serious. ;)

I’m Alive … I Think

Well, I’ve been sick for a few days. Which is no fun. It’s been like pneumonia, only … not quite as nasty. Like oldmonia … a frail strain that’s easier to fend off. It only managed to really get into my lungs for one day. Then it just tried my throat. And turned into an annoying sinus flu. And my temperature was only in the 102s, which is annoying but livable. I could barely even focus my eyes (not to mention my attention) well enough to sit in front of a computer.

Anywho, so that’s why I haven’t been blogging.

Of course I’m still not “well”, but I at least felt well enough to try sitting in front of a computer again. I thought I might even try my hand at doing some work. You know, earn money and all that. But the company VPN won’t let me connect. Maybe it’s a sign.

You’d think I’d have all sorts of neat things to write about. What with the Intel Developer Forum going on. And the Firefox 3 final beta. And basically all sorts of neat geekiness going on in the world.

But honestly, I can barely even manage typing this out right now. I don’t think I’m quite coherent enough just yet to really dig in to reading technical jargon at the moment.

But hey. I’m alive. That’s something. :)

Bushie Go Home!

The countdown begins to the punting of Dubya and the return to society. Thanks to   Bush’s Last Day  I now have a countdown timer. Sweet! This, my friends, is what the internet is all about: geeks helping geeks ensure freedom of speech*.

*= Sanity check clause: Now some might consider my words “unpatriotic”. However I would like to point out that I do support my country. It’s the pseudo-elected village-idiot puppet-in-charge that I don’t support. Just as I can support troops without supporting the oops … I mean the “war on terror”.

Hey, speaking on the “War on Terror” how are things going in Afghanistan lately? Oh, I’m sorry … don’t I mean Iraq? No. I don’t. Makes you wonder though.

Google Ads

You will notice that InsanIT.net has been graced with some unobtrusive advertising. I truly hope that it doesn’t get in anyone’s way. I tried to keep it as harmless as possible, but still provide assistance to people who may find targeted ads useful. Because, after all, if you just read an article on internet security and antivirus products, you just might be interested in buying antivirus software. And the search bar is nice. Enjoy! :)
